DIA Archives Exhibition

Under Construction

This new exhibition at the National Library in Wellington will house New Zealand’s three most important constitutional documents: the 1835 Declaration of Independence of the Northern Chiefs (He Whakaputanga o te Rangatiratanga o Nu Tireni), the 1840 Treaty of Waitangi (Te Tiriti o Waitangi), and the 1893 Women’s Suffrage Petition.

The exhibition will include a document room with modern conservation technology to preserve the iconic documents as well as an interpretive space, which incorporates interactive features and learning areas.
Lighthaus Limited is involved with providing a Dynalite Lighting control system for this space to integrate with the existing Dynalite system installed during the Library’s 2012 upgrade.

The lighting control system for the exhibition features occupancy detection inside the exhibition hall to help minimise unnecessary light exposure for the documents. The Dynalite system is also integrated with the BMS system for the space to provide occupancy indication as well as lux level monitoring and recording.
